RDP Auto logon 2.0 beta 1
Microsoft recently released new mstsc 6.0. Unfortunately autordp 1.x does not work with this new version of the remote desktop client.
This is why I'll release autordp 2.0 - the utility that is compatible with both previous and the new released mstsc.
The current status of the utility is beta because I do not have enough resources (computers/OSes) at home to test it. I'll spend some time testing it this week and hopefully change the status to release by the end of the week.
Any help in testing is very welcome. I would appreciate if you post a comment if the utility works/does not work in your environment.
Here is the download link:

Thanks,
Andrei

Hi !
I have been using the Auto logon and it workes perfectly.
No I´m trying to get this working och a Windows CE 5 thin client but cannot find any way.
Have you tried your software on a CE client ?
Kind regards
Ronnie
Stefan,
can you please contact me at abaronov at amustsoft dot com?
I will send you a debug version that will log extended debug info. This will help to troubleshoot the problem
Thanks,
Andrei
Hi guys, I confirm exactly the same problem... using rdp6 and autordp2b1... commandline parameters are not passed to the rdp client lukas -dot- pravda -at- gmxt -dot- net

Hello,
Is there any news on the progress of the 2.0 version ?
I was a happy user of the 1.1 version.

Has the user name and password field "fill-in" problem been resolved? It seems that the computer name being passed correctly - but the user name and password are not being passed. I could really use this RDP v2 tool if you get this corrected.
Correct. Servername is passed through, only username and password doesn't pass through. Should indeed be nice to have this option fixed. Need it badly! :)
Success fixing this problem.
I, too, would be very interested in getting this wonderful tool working with mstsc 6.0. Anything I can do to help ??
I'm using Windows Server 2003, RDP 6 and AutoRDP 2.0 Beta, and it doesn't write the user and password when i'm trying to connect to a server. Can you please send me the debug version so I can send you the log?
Wonder if there is any progress with ID and PW passthrough on 2.0 Beta 1? We have been reluctantly Vista-ed to RDP6, and are now experiencing the same missing ID and PW issue. Can test with the debug version if it will help to identify the cause of the problem.
Thanks!
Glenn
This is a great little tool. Is there any way to start an rdp session non-interactively? I just want to be able to kick off an rdp session on server startup for certain applications that require a running session. I wasn't able to get this to work.
I also encountered a problem with servers on our domain, because we have a banner that comes up immediately after login that requires an ok. I was wondering how to send a carriage return to get past that. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks for this great tool. i using xp sp2, rdp 6.0 and autordp 2.
same problem, computer/domain name being passed correctly, but the user name and password are not being passed.
help please.
Hello,
I am using Autordp 2.0 beta 1 and this works fine on clients or servers where not is installed the Novell Client 4.91 sp X.
Anny suggestion?
i downloaded and am testing 2.0 beta. it is working on 4 out of 5 XP desktops that i installed on. Don't know why the 5th one still prompts for username/password...
So i fixed the 5th computer. This may be the same issue for others. If you already have a username/password saved in your Default.rdp, it will continue to use them, even if passed from autordp. Modify your Default.rdp to be "plain" or put a "plain" default.rdp somewhere else and reference it on the autordp commandline... Works Great for me!
Nice Utility. Thanks!
Andrei, Thanks for providing this utility.
I am using the RDP client 6.0
When i am trying to connect to the server by providing the servername, user name, password to the autordp.exe. It is again asking me for the username and password.
Can you provide your inputs on this
I've found another bug:
When using /u:"firstname lastname" only the first name is entered into the Username field. Connection then fails.
The parameters need to be parsed in a specific way that anything enclosed withing "" is recognised as one parameter not 2 seperate.
Hi
I am happy to use autordp 2.0 and that script is very interesting for me.
I am writing Perl script which is similar with your autordp.exe but my script requirement is more compensive. SOW of script: 1) auto login terminal server, 2) do administrative task 3) auto logoff erminal ...
Would u mind to share your approach to me ?
Hello - I'd like to thank you first for this software. I don't know why MS didn't make this std for mstsc.exe but it is very helpful. 1.1 worked for me but we have upgraded to XP SP3 and the terminal service has changed to remote desktop 6. The problem I'm having is when I run my cmdline it opens MSTSC and prompts for a username and password.
Here is the command Line I'm using;
" autordp test.rdp /v:10.x.x.x /u:domain\xxx /p:xxx "
It is passing the /v: field because it is showing up in the RDU interface. If you have any ideas please let me know; Thanks agian!
Hello Andrei,
I just wanted to send you a huge "THANKS" for your work. Your autordp just saved me lots of time fighting with RDP !
Best Regards,
Vince
